Machine Control Technician - The Municipal Group of Companies

The Municipal Group of Companies, based in Bedford Nova Scotia, is a large, diversified organization engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction, mining and environmental services within the Atlantic Provinces.  We are currently seeking the expertise of a Machine Control Technician to join our team from our office based in Bedford, NS.

Job Summary:
The Municipal Group of Companies is hiring a Machine Control Technician to assist with ongoing installations and maintenance of our Machine Control Guidance (MCG) Fleet. The successful candidate will work closely with the various departments/companies to provide support.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the installations and removal of MCG on various types of equipment as required throughout all of Atlantic Canada and Quebec.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to inventory and installed MCG systems.
  • Assist with MCG inventory management.
  • Assist with MCG training and technical support requirements.
  • Any other duties as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:

  • Experience working around heavy equipment
  • Experience with Trimble MCG Systems considered an asset
  • Familiar with system maintenance and associated preventive measures considered an asset
  • Construction Survey understanding considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of Excel Spreadsheets.
  • Experience with MCG design files. Working knowledge of design software and data set creation is an asset.
  • Must be open to travel throughout Atlantic Canada and Quebec.
  • Has a proven work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
